Introduced in this post by mscha, the Newpixbot is a forum bot/script responsible for posting the ONG in the case that no user is online to do so, or everyone forgets. It was created as a backup in case of emergency, and received some backlash after some users thought it would stifle the friendly competition of posting the new frame. Thus, it was updated first to wait for 5 minutes, then for 10 minutes before doing so.
Since its creation, the newpixbot was the inspiration for a variety of derivative works including a tarot card. It is also counted separately from mscha on Kieryn's data page, and has been known to submit images and once even a filk, seemingly of its own accord.
